Middle School Instructional Interventionist

The Academy for Global Citizenship is seeking a full-time Instructional Interventionistpositionfor the 2017-2018 school year. Instructional Interventionists provide small group instruction for students in kindergarten through fifth grade based on student needs. We strongly encourage bilingual candidates to apply. This position is ideal for recent education graduates who want to gain experience as more than a teacher’s assistant. Instructional Interventionists receive training to implement data-based interventions and provide support according to the Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Curriculum Coordinator and classroom teachers to establish a schedule for student intervention
  • Providing and tracking small group interventions in and outside the classroom
  • Assisting partner teachers with classroom set up and assessment for the first few weeks of school
  • Independently leading classes on occasion, i.e. during student testing
  • Duties monitoring breakfast/lunch and recess

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Biliterate in Spanish and English (preferred)
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong leadership skills and personal drive
  • Ability to implement remediation programs to small groups or individual students

Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or higher
