SUMMARY: The Customer Service Specialist works with Job Seekers to provide professional and employer focused outreach to engage customers in career development and educational pathways that lead to gainful employment and self sufficiency. Outreach Specialists are rewarded for providing best in class services and accelerating clients toward their goals.

This is a contract position lasting 1 Year contingent upon performance and funding.

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

EDUCATION: Associate's degree preferred or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties as described


  • Serve as primary initial liaison between customer and company via telephone, email and mail.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive outreach/working relationship with all stakeholders including customers, governmental agencies, employment partners, service providers, etc.
  • Re-engage clients by discussing the range of available services and the potential benefits
  • Maintain updated customer database and track customer engagement in services; accurately document outreach activities in State database
  • Prepare and present weekly reports of activities and outreach achievements
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director


  • Strong relationship building skills; strong ability to empathize and communicate with customers served
  • One or more years experience performing Social Service and/or Case Management duties
  • Experience in Career Services and Recruiting considered extremely valuable
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in MS Suite
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member or a team
  • Demonstrated experience with internet job banks and search engines
  • Bilingual preferred: Spanish, Russian, Portuguese or Haitian Creole preferred
