SUMMARY: Receives requests for orders and requested delivery times from customers or referrals. Makes quotations on standard items, writes orders, and relays pertinent order information of customer. Verifies billing information. Coordinates with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following and other duties that may be assigned by management.
Assists all customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
Receives requests and completes the necessary paperwork for equipment services from referral sources.
Coordinates home equipment service request with delivery personnel for prompt delivery.
Maintains current knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid and third party payor sources for equipment coverage.
Verifies medical necessity, insurance coverage and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services.
Maintains accurate records for CMN forms.
Maintains adequate inventory in the store showroom for walk-in customers.
Prepares paperwork to be given to the billing department for insurance purposes.
Completes designated daily and/or weekly reports as assigned.
Keeps the showroom and the shelf inventory clean, rotated and in order.

Pleasant personality, good verbal /written communication skills. basic knowledge of office equipment and computers.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year experience in home medical equipment preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on –one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

ORIENTATION: Must complete orientation in designated time frame. The employee will receive supervised training and familiarize themselves of company policies, procedures and services.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: Attendance at training programs and other training programs as designated by management.
