Job Summary: Achieve maximum growth and retention of current customers, while generating new client business within an assigned territory by effectively promoting the company’s products.


Education: Bachelor’s degree


  • 5 or more years of outside sales experience
  • Ed tech /publishing in higher education a plus
  • Highly organized and motivated with an aptitude for problem-solving; ability to offer solutions for customers (consultative sales approach)
  • Results-orientated with the ability to work remotely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and CRM software (NetSuite a plus)

  • Maintains and grows current customer group with relationship-based approach
  • Aggressively seeks new business through a structured and disciplined process

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive top line revenue, and achieve territory sales goal
  • Maintain workflow in CRM database
  • Create territory sales plans and expense budgets
  • Attend industry conferences and travel with the territory during designated sales cycle
  • Execute calls, emails and webinars with high intensity
  • Attend training and periodic meetings at corporate headquarters
  • Maintain regularly scheduled visits with key customers
  • Provide Product Development Team with feedback from the marketplace
  • Develop qualified prospects which migrate through sales pipeline
  • Work appropriate business hours based on territory
