Positions are available immediately!! Concord, California (94520). M-F, Days, Full-time, Non-Exempt, 32-40 Hours/Week, $12.50/Hour, Benefits (Medical, Vacation, Sick, 403(b) Retirement).
The Living Skills Attendant provides instruction and direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of areas, such as advocacy, appropriate behavior, art, communication, community integration, cultural events, education, gardening, health and safety preparation, independent living skills, mobility, music, outdoor experiences, personal care training, recreation, self-advocacy, social skills, supported employment, and other designated skills, and attends to personal needs in areas including eating and bathrooming.
Ensure individuals are treated with dignity and respect; Support participants in advocacy and self-advocacy actions.- Provide opportunities for participants to choose, practice, learn, demonstrate, and experience independent action.-Assist with researching community activities, events, and destinations, planning trips to desired locations, and arranging/accessing transportation, and attend outings with participants.
-Assist with mobility in the community and on site by pushing wheelchairs, including pushing, pulling, and bending, as well as securing wheelchair tie downs.-Drive agency vehicles (mini-bus, van, truck, sedan) to transport participants and to provide services, and drive personal vehicle to provide services and to run errands as needed.Applicants must be flexible to changes, be patient, and have a good work ethic and social skills.
Special Requirements/Must Have: Ability to pass LiveScan fingerprinting, drug test, health screening, and TB test; Valid CA DL, auto insurance, clean DMV, and reliable transportation; Willingness to drive our agency vehicles/vans; Physical stamina and ability to fulfill job responsibilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including discretion, tact and judgment; Effective written and oral communication skills; Professional demeanor, good attendance, and punctuality.

GARDEN program participants are non-ambulatory, in wheelchairs, with moderate to severe physical challenges. Participants learn to access their community and to explore options available to them.
