POSITION TITLE: Laundry Attendant

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel in ensuring the hotels established standards of cleanliness. Responsible in reporting any deficiencies to the Housekeeping Manager and Maintenance Manager. Responsible for the use and stocking of all chemicals used.


  • Maintain all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to sort, clean, fold, and store all linen of the hotel.
  • Utilize correct cleaning chemicals for designated linen and stains according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize specific linen and handle guest requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the day to day operation of the housekeeping operation.
  • Ensure security of any assigned keys.
  • Check lint traps constantly throughout each day.
  • Load and operate commercial washers and dryers to the correct levels.
  • Inspect linens for stains and/or tears.
  • Report any damages or maintenance problems to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Turn over any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Manager and/or Inspector.
  • Stock laundry cart and laundry closet with linen supplies.
  • Inspect the condition of all linen and report any damages or issues to the Manager and/or Inspector.
  • Maintains proper stock levels at all times in order to ensure proper amounts of laundry are available to start the next day.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Laundry Room and Housekeeping storage room.
  • Empty trash containers and any unnecessary debris in the laundry room.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Housekeeping Manager and/or Inspector.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of hotel and guest records.
  • Properly communicates with all team members and managers.
  • Wear the proper uniform at all times and is ready to perform for the scheduled shift.
  • Review departmental communication and Guest feedback daily with the Housekeeping Manager and/or Inspector.
  • Complete a daily laundry check list.
  • Communicate through verbal, team huddles, and bulletin boards.
  • Uphold the hotel's commitment to hospitality.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the housekeeping manager and/or inspector.


  • Must be able to perform each task assigned by the Housekeeping Manager and/or inspector.
  • Effective Communication and Listening Skills.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment and perform efficiently under stressful situations.
  • Available to work varied shifts, according to the needs of the hotel. This includes weekends, evening, and holidays.
  • Proper knowledge of laundry operations is preferred.
  • Ability to endure physical movements in sorting, loading, folding, and stacking of hotel linen.


  • High School Graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.


  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Cleaning and Laundry experience is preferred.
