Service Technicians Earn a Great Income! **Certifications and Experience reflect scale** Candidate must have the knowledge and ability to work on petroleum powered and or diesel engines. Must be a good problem solver and can work independent on jobs. Candidates must have a good work ethic, good communication skills, and work well with others. Recognize the value in being a technician team player and goal oriented. All Jim Ellis Service Centers are certified repair facilities and work on most makes and models of cars and trucks and medium duty trucks.

Automotive Technician / Mechanic Responsibilities. What are the responsibilities and qualifications for the role?

  • Perform line technician services
  • Routine inspections and maintenance
  • System diagnostics
  • Full automotive trouble shooting and testing
  • Continuously expanding your knowledge for new technologies and practice
  • Use a computer to utilize factory software to send service details to service advisors
  • Perform road tests for diagnosis of consumer’s complaint and verification of repair
  • Work as a team along with the service advisors communicating clients vehicle needs
  • Attend manufacture specific training classes
  • ASE certifications are preferred, yet not a requirement.
  • High Voltage Training
  • Must have basic tools
  • Great mechanical skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screens (MVR, Background & Drug Test)
