Seasonal Sales Clerk I – Eagle Bay Marina

Position Summary:

The Seasonal Sales Clerk I position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service pursuant to Migizi EDC standards, generating sales, and safeguarding company assets. Although the Eagle Bay Marina is an enterprise of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, it operates under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greets and engages customers in conversation for purposes of providing sales related assistance.
  • Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked, and merchandise is neatly arranged.
  • Sells general merchandise, including alcohol, to customers exercising professional selling techniques.
  • Records and monitors sales trends and inventory counts for accuracy.
  • Works as part of a sales team to provide service which anticipates and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Performs all types of cash register transactions (cash, charge, check, gift certificates, etc.) in an accurate and procedurally correct manner.
  • Monitor customer activity on property and during use of equipment or services.
  • Pump fuel into watercrafts for customers.
  • Count and record money in cash drawers at the beginning and ending of shift.
  • Maintain orderly cash drawer.
  • Maintain orderly, clean and sanitized work station.
  • Observe surroundings for cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
  • Handles customer returns and problems tactfully and efficiently.
  • Obtain and follow Migizi/Enakeygik policies and procedures.
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Safety Hazards:

Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer operation. Walking on slippery, wet or greasy flooring. Occasional stooping, bending, squatting, lifting of items in excess of 50 lbs. Daily contact with fuel, grease, equipment and sharp objects. Daily contact with water, boats and boating equipment. Occasional exposure to unpredictable and potentially dangerous weather and water conditions while assisting boaters.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required :

  • 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Obtain and maintain Storm Water Management training certification.
  • Pass a pre-assessment math test with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Obtain and maintain a MI and Tribal Driver’s License.
  • Pre-employment background check, drug screen, and TB Test.
