Sustainability Coordinator/LEED Administrator

Overview

This full-time position requires someone with a passion for sustainability. This person should have a Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience. Educational background is flexible but preferred disciplines are architecture, engineering, environmental design, or a focus on sustainability. The ideal candidate should be LEED accredited with an AP plus specialty.

The Moody Nolan sustainability team is dispersed throughout several offices and strong emphasis will be placed on the ability to collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with team members in other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist team and client in developing project sustainable design goals.
  • Develop project LEED process plan, complete LEED documentation, and coordinate LEED documentation with consultants.
  • Provide education and guidance for sustainable strategies across multiple offices, projects, and market sectors.
  • Assisting the Marketing Department in the creation of sustainability related marketing materials.
  • Research sustainable building materials and sustainable strategies.
  • Assist in firm-wide education concerning sustainable design topics.
  • Support the Sustainability Director in providing firm wide vision and support on sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead data gathering, analysis, and reporting of AIA 2030 Commitment requirements.
  • Occasionally assist with projects outside of the sustainability scope.

Required Qualifications

  • Passion for sustainability with interest in integrative, high-performance design.
  • 1-3 years of implementing sustainable and high-performance strategies including understanding what strategies are appropriate to what building types and locations as well as general return on investment economics.
  • Able to effectively communicate with clients and project teams in an inspiring and productive manner.
  • Able to look at projects from various scales, the big picture and the details.
  • Enjoys working with complex project teams and advocating for sustainable design.
  • Articulate and comfortable public speaker able to lead and/or participate in sustainability charrettes with clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, environmental design, sustainability, or related field.
  • Willingness to pursue 3rd party sustainable design certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with certifying LEED projects; LEED certification.
  • Knowledge of or experience with other sustainability rating systems.
  • Knowledge of Adobe suite.
  • Architecture or Construction industry experience.
