Smith Turf & Irrigation (STI) is a family-owned business that opened in 1925. Today we have 21 locations in NC, SC, TN, and VA. STI is the premiere landscape contractor supplier of irrigation, outdoor lighting, drainage, water gardens, and landscape products (seed, fertilizers, edging tools, etc). These locations carry product lines such as Toro, Irritrol, Rain Bird, K-Rain and Lebanon, as well as Kichler and Vista landscape lightning.

We currently have an opening for a Branch Manager at our Franklin, TN location. This is a full-time career opportunity. The preferred candidate should have three years of industry experience. You will manage the operations and sales efforts of the branch, which distributes equipment for residential and commercial usage. The products offered at this branch include, but are not limited to, the following items: irrigation, outdoor lighting, water garden, drainage, floating fountain/aerator systems.

The Branch Manager is responsible for all store functions associated with running a retail/wholesale center to achieve sales, service, client satisfaction, and profitability goals.

  • Responsible for store's profitability and financial budgeting
  • Monitor inventory levels, facilities and other assets
  • Analyze store-level reports and identify new strategies for maximizing results
  • Ensure implementation of visual merchandising standards
  • Manage store employees and scheduling
  • Conduct employee training sessions and coach best practices
  • Assist STI outside sales team with customers
  • Ensure all rebates are processed timely
  • Communicate sales, service updates and initiatives to the team frequently
  • Other duties as assigned by senior management (to include but not limited to):
  • Manage, monitor and maintain cash drawer accurately
  • Efficient scheduling of local deliveries
  • Maintain neat, organized and clean store and storage areas
  • Conduct daily inventory cycle counts
  • Maintain and monitor inventory to ensure availability and accurate stocking levels/turns


  • Preferred candidate should have 3 years of industry related experience

  • Proven ability to understand and drive store profitability through service
  • Demonstrated ability to set standards and hold team members accountable
  • Proven financial acumen to include: budgeting and forecasting sales, gross margin, inventory turns, expense control and net profit
