Technical Communications Instructor (Mon & Wed Evening Classes)

Vatterott College has an immediate opening for a part-time on-ground Technical Communications Instructor for Monday and Wednesday mornings and evenings. This part time position is on ground and is responsible for the delivery of course content to enrolled students. This is NOT an on-line course.

***Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Classes begin the week of September 9th and run for 10 weeks.***


  • Teaching college-level Technical Communications classes.
  • Preparing class syllabus, outline and daily lesson plans as required. Providing course syllabus and outline to students on the first day of class.
  • Maintaining and ensuring consistency between the course catalog and the daily lesson plans.
  • Preparing and administering examinations, student projects, and other teaching aids needed to fulfill objectives of the program.
  • Setting up classroom, lab, equipment, projects, assignments, etc. in preparation for each new phase or class start.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, grades, progress of students, and reporting the same in a timely manner to manager.
  • Maintaining a clean, effective, and professional learning environment.
  • Attending all scheduled in-service activities, meetings, and completing all scheduled/assigned activities in support of the individual faculty development plan.
  • Communicating budget needs to Campus Management on a timely basis.
  • Tutoring and conducting conferences with students.
  • Maintaining discipline and enforcing school rules and regulations.
  • Assisting with library research needs, information gathering and making textbooks recommendations.
  • Participating in committees, graduation ceremonies and other school events.


  • This position requires a Master’s Degree in Communications with a minimum of at least 1-2 business classes reflected on your transcripts.
  • The position also requires personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook), excellent spelling and grammar skills, and the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner.
