Vatterott College has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Education . This position is responsible for faculty leadership initiatives and the planning and implementation of programs and activities that ensure quality academic standards in the area of Trades and Allied Health specific Programs.


1. Monitors classroom activities; summarizes and follows up on student instructor/classroom critiques and on a quarterly basis monitors and evaluates each instructor’s lecture and/or lab instruction and provides written documentation to the Campus Director and Regional Academic Dean.

2. Ensures the accuracy and currency of syllabi, course outlines and lesson plans and maintains files of course documentation for agency inspection and quality control purposes.

3. Develops methodology for tracking progress as a part of a comprehensive quality assurance plan.

4. Ensures instructors maintain accurate academic and attendance records. Determines and communicates time frames for reporting academic records to the registrar.

5. Leads retention team and tracks progress toward retention goals for each program in coordination with program directors. Develops and implements strategies that improve retention.

6. Communicates and reinforces institutional policies and expectations with students at orientation and ongoing.

7. Monitors student academic progress; oversees that probation is properly reviewed and administered with students identified by registrar; implements a strategy for student tutoring and monitors tutoring and advising activities.

8. Coaches students who have unsatisfactory academic and attendance performance, maintains written documentation of corrective actions.

9. Provides student recognition for academic excellence according to established guidelines.

10. Manages the Learning Resource System including, but not limited to: budgeting, hours of operation, staffing, and purchase of new inventory/books.

11. Manages the personnel and oversees the daily functions of the office of the campus registrar.

12. Ensures accurate academic records are maintained according to institution and accreditation guidelines.

13. Ensures hours of operation are maintained as well as providing quality customer service to all students.

14. Recruits and hires all full-time and adjunct Trades and Allied Health faculty.

15. Ensures class sizes are managed according to institution and accrediting standards. Conducts new instructor/faculty training and mentoring activities.

16. Ensures all new faculty are trained prior to their first day of instruction. Plans, conducts, and oversees training sessions.

17. Oversees the functions of the campus Career Services department. Ensures the campus is exceeding placement standards, accurately and timely reporting placement rates, and maintaining accurate records of placement activity.

18. Acts as the point of contact/approving official for all academic, career service, retention, registrar, and learning resource center related accreditation, state agency, and corporate report submissions.

19. Regular and consistent attendance.


This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in Education administration or areas such as curriculum development; educational effectiveness assessment and improvement; and faculty development and performance appraisals. A Master's Degree is a plus. The position requires personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook). Excellent spelling and grammar skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner, is essential.
