Electrician Lead Instructor (Part-time Morning and/or Evening)

Job Summary

Vatterott College is now reviewing resume for a Electrician Lead Instructor. This position is responsible for implementation and instruction of curriculum to students. This position is also responsible for ensuring the program is in compliance with accreditation standards.


  • Provides related instruction and supervises student training in a specific field of study.
  • Teaches Independent Study courses in the program.
  • Reviews lesson plans and standardized syllabi for technical concepts, course objectives, and ensures proper course planning from term to term. Reviews and provides feedback or approval of submitted course syllabi and submits approved syllabi to the Director of Education no later than 1 week prior to the end of the term.
  • Prepares and administers examinations, student projects, and other teaching aids needed to fulfill objectives of program. Sets up classroom, lab, equipment, projects, assignments, etc in preparation for each new phase or class start.
  • Maintains accurate records of attendance, grades, progress of students, and reports the same in a timely manner to manager.
  • Assists the Director of Education and/or the Program Director in efficient management of the program and staff.
  • Maintains clean, effective, and professional learning environment.
  • Recruits advisory board members in conjunction with the Career Services/Director of Education.
  • Attends all scheduled in-service activities, program advisory meetings, monthly program faculty meetings, campus staff and faculty meetings, and Program Director meetings as scheduled.
  • Attends all scheduled in-service activities, meetings, and completes all scheduled/assigned activities in support of individual faculty development plan.
  • Collaborates with Instructors and the Retention Office to refer students to internal and external resources that promote student retention.
  • Serve as an Academic Advisor to an assigned list of students throughout their academic career at Vatterott. Minimum of one appointment per term must be scheduled for each student.
  • Develops relationships with high schools and other local organizations to promote the program in the community.
  • Communicates budget needs to Campus Management on a timely basis.
  • Tutors and conducts conferences with students.
  • Maintains discipline and enforces school rules and regulations.
  • Assists with library research needs, and information gathering and makes textbooks recommendations.
  • Participates in committees, graduation ceremonies and other school events.
  • Consents to faculty classroom observations to be conducted in person and/or by electronic recording each term.
  • Conducts faculty classroom observations in person and/or by electronic recording each term.
  • Completes administrative duties and other projects as assigned.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.


Requires an Associates Degree or higher and 3-5 years of experience in the Electrician field; teaching experience a plus. The position requires personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook). Excellent spelling and grammar skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner, is essential.
