Xcite Advertising/CDM Field Services is growing and seeking an enthusiastic Area Manager in the Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA area!

Classification: Exempt

Position Summary:

Engage existing and new customers, manage a staff (number of employee varies) to ensure productivity and efficiency. Identify customer needs ensuring Service Level Agreements are met and refer leads to Sales Representative for appropriate products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, manage, recruit, and train a team of Account Representatives (AR), and/or Marketing Lot Technicians (MLT).
  • Communicate ongoing unit/system issues for resolution, competitive environment information to management, and corporate directives, policies and procedures to field staff.
  • Maximize time efficiencies and schedule employees to complete customer visits on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to adhere to a profitable, scheduled, and mapped territory; complete daily routes for employees that are ill, on vacation or otherwise unavailable (AM to perform AR functions as needed); and work with sales professionals to maximize territory production and growth (geo-targeting and cross-sell opportunities).
  • Conduct area reviews as directed, to include on-site audits, and computer audits (including, but not limited to, analysis of picture quality, picture penetration, and adherence to contractual obligation (number of visits, staging, etc.))
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning as required/designed. Perform, or arrange for, field maintenance of equipment as required; and create resolution for customer service related issues (i.e., refer repair and maintenance issues to Customer Service as required, escalate issue through appropriate management chain as needed, and follow-up on all issues for timely and complete resolution).
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted transactions per month and/or number of vehicles serviced for the assigned territory; complete and supply reports to management as required.
  • Provide effective account management to ensure long term customer retention and that the customer is, at all times, satisfied with the product and/or services (including, issue resolution and product effectiveness/inefficiencies). Ensure strong working relationship with appropriate contacts; document customer’s relevant management/personnel changes; and help Sales reconcile billing related issues (incorrect billing information, payment amount insufficient/checks lost).
  • Coordinate new dealer launches; schedule/plan AR activities to handle launch; adjust local services accounts to accommodate personnel needs related to launches/volume issues. Perform Account Representative functions as required); manage hardware and software issues within territory (adjust hardware inventory among ARs to account for equipment return activity (breakage, hardware issues); and manage ARs and product resources to account for software/dial in issues.
  • Travel to/from customer locations (automobile dealerships, etc.), service customer accounts to ensure customer-oriented working relationship with appropriate contacts, as directed by the manager, and maintain/expand customer base (including up sell customer base on new and additional products).

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree (or higher) in business, marketing, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of outside sales and/or service experience, with one or more years of supervisory experience, preferably in the technology, computer or automobile fields.
  • Ability to quickly and comfortably adapt to new customers, locations, and work conditions.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings ensuring information flows to all levels of the organization.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics. A thorough understanding of web-based tools and navigating the world wide web.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Area Manager needs to know how to write succinctly and effectively in a way that ARs than comprehend and execute on.
  • Effectively speak before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra to analyze transaction data.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working environment : Outdoors and indoor warehouse environment with adequate ventilation. Work near moving mechanical parts 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. Over 2/3 of the time exposure to fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions.
